CEF Coolah

Country Education Foundation of Coolah was established to provide much needed financial assistance and support to local youth to help them achieve their post-high school education, training and vocation aspirations. We recognise that the cost of rural students pursuing higher education is often much greater than those of their metropolitan counterparts, and that sometimes these costs can be prohibitive.

CEF Coolah fundraises throughout the year and accepts donations from residents and businesses in order to provide financial grants to local students to support their educational journey. These grants are sourced directly from sponsorship and fundraising – not government funding – assisting these students with costs associated in achieving university and trade qualifications, and working to help them achieve these educational aspirations.

Braidwood sheep shearer and our alumnus from 2018, Lochie Ramm, is definitely a multi-skilled farmer. 🧑‍🌾

Not only can he shear sheep and run all the day-to-day activities of farm life, he can shoot and edit videos!

He has combined his skills by creating his own YouTube channel and Instagram page, both called Our Farm Life, where he showcases his love for farming and agriculture.

Hes a very deserving winner of our 2023 Audi Australia Foundation - CEF Community Alumni Champion award.

We'd like to introduce one of our amazing students, Ethan Smith. 🤩🤩

This year, he received a grant from our local foundation, Country Education Foundation - Young, as well as a national CEF - UNSW scholarship to help him with his studies in a Bachelor of Commerce at UNSW.

Ethan is a highly committed young man who worked full-time at a financial planning firm in Young before moving to Sydney for his studies.

He allowed us to follow him this year to witness his journey and see just how much this support has helped him thrive at university. We hear from him about the transition from home to the city, how his studies are going and what he is excited about for the future.

Give the gift of education this Christmas and help make education a reality for more inspiring regional students like Ethan.🎄📖

We celebrated our 30th anniversary with a Gala night at Printhie Wines in Orange, NSW, on Saturday the 18th of November 2023! 🥳🎉

Around 120 people enjoyed an evening of amazing food and drinks, entertainment by local singer Eleanor Edwards, and speeches by CEF founders Nick and Julia Burton Taylor.

A special thank you to Rob McDonald of The Butterfly Armoury for capturing some fantastic video footage from the night.

Here is our Gala in a beautiful one-minute video... thank you to those who helped us celebrate with a night to remember.

Growing up in little old Braidwood, a town of just 1000 people west of Batemans Bay in NSW, Inga Neilsen was laughed at when she said she dreamed of one day being a TV journalist. 📹🎤

Despite facing so much adversity, she has beaten all odds to become exactly that. She is now working as the Police Reporter for ninenewsadelaide!

Here is our 2023 @audiaustralia Foundation - CEF Alumnus of the Year, Inga Neilsen! 🏆👇
